Making an appointment
Please contact Iris on the contact page if you would like to check for appointment availability or ask any questions you have about what the therapy process involves. Iris can offer both face to face and Telehealth appointments. Appointments are available Monday-Friday.
Unfortunately, Iris does not offer treatment through third party providers such as TAC, Workcover, NDIS or Victims of Crime.
Please note that Iris does not offer a crisis service. If you require immediate assistance, please contact 000, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467.
Rebates
Under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Scheme, you may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for each session for up to ten therapy sessions in a year. To claim the rebate, you will need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP with Iris's contact details on it. Please email the Care Plan to Iris before your first session.
Some private health insurance funds offer a partial rebate for psychological sessions. Please refer to your fund details for information around this. Please note that you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health fund rebate at the same time, and that some private health funds only provide rebates when the Medicare rebates have been used up for the year.
There is a 48 hours’ notice for cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. Changes to appointments within 24 hours will attract a full cancellation fee that cannot be covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
